Our Mission Statement: H.O.P.E. – Helping Others Prophet Elias is a charitable initiative focused on helping others through hands-on mission work and fundraising. Collaborating alongside the existing entities within the Greek Orthodox Community of Mississauga, our objective is to provide “HOPE” for those who are in need through volunteer outreach programs in the GTA
The dedicated administrators of the H.O.P.E. program search for, partner with and organize initiatives with various agencies to bring volunteer opportunities to the H.O.P.E. volunteer group. Within its first year, H.O.P.E. mission work has brought “HOPE” through volunteer time/efforts, food donations, clothing donations and street distributions to a total of 8 different agencies and hundreds of people currently living on the streets of the GTA!
Within this group, we encourage everyone to join us regardless of age, religion, cultural background, etc. All are welcome! On average, we aim to organize at least one initiative per month for volunteer and fundraising opportunities.
Jesus said: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.” Matthew 25: 35-40
