Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church offers Christian religious instruction to all school aged children every Sunday morning during the school year (September – June). The Sunday School program begins in Church at 10:00 a.m. with the beginning of the Divine Liturgy.

After the proclamation of the Holy Gospel, the children proceed to their classrooms for their lesson. Right before Holy Communion, the children gather in the Church where Fr. Theologos engages them a dedicated sermon. The children then receive Holy Communion and proceed back to their classes to resume their lesson. Sunday School classes conclude at the end of the Divine Liturgy service around 12:00pm.

The Sunday School classes are based on the curriculum provided by the Metropolis of Canada and are taught to the children with love and dedication to Christ. Children are educated in the teachings of Christ through scripture, bible studies, saints, feast days and various religious celebrations.

Classes are offered to children in pre-school, kindergarten (junior and senior), and grades 1 to 7. The Teen Talk group offers a robust discussion and activities for teens.

Our teachers and their helpers consist of dedicated, faithful and experienced catechist volunteers and are guided by professional teachers. Children deserve the most effective and stimulating materials providing by loving teachers. As a testament to our Church School, many parents tell us that it is their children who wake them up on Sunday morning to go to Church so that they can attend Sunday School.

Our Sunday School Teachers welcome you to join their program. All are welcome!
